Bel and the Dragon

Following on from the 'Ancient City of Syria' post. Let us follow on with the story of 'Bel and the Dragon'. This should be an eye-opener for the Christians that believe that the KJV as never been changed.

The story of 'Bel and the Dragon' was in chapter 14 of the extended Book of Daniel written in Aramaic in the 2nd century BC. It was in the original 1611 edition of the King James Version, it is written that it is listed in VI of the Thirty-Nine Articles of the Church of England.

If you know your scripture then you also know that the book of Daniel in the bible today, finishes at chapter 12.

The Bel and Dragon narrative ridicules the worship of idols. Daniel tells the king of the Persians that the idol that they worship is made of clay and bronze and thus, cannot eat or drink. The story goes that the king then becomes enraged, Cyrus demands that 70 priests of Bel show him who consumes the offerings made to the idol. The priests then challenge the king to give the offerings of food and wine,  then seal the entrance of the temple with his ring.

Daniel being a prophet, had the priests sussed, so he scattered ashes on the whole perimeter of the temple in the presence of the king and after the priests had left. In this way, Daniel was able to prove that the priests of Bel with their wives and children were entering the temple though a secret door, when the temple doors were sealed. Of course, it was the families of the priests that were consuming the food and wine.

The very next morning, Daniel was able to show the king of Persia the footprints on the temple's floor, The priests were caught red handed and suffered the consequences. In addition, to the story of the Bel priests there is the next story of the Dragon.

The people of Babylon worshipped a dragon, and Daniel slays the dragon although the dragon isn't an idol.  Does it remind you of Saint George and the dragon? Does it remind you of the woman in Rev 12 that was dealing with a man in the earthly world? The dragon.

In the story of Daniel he feeds the dragon food, and when the dragon ate the food he burst open. I can assure you that the food that I gave the dragon was all good food, I am known to be an excellent cook. That is the sign of a true Spiritual Alchemist, you have to have the best ingredients, and creative talent to serve up a colorful feast that is delicious.

However, it was after I gave him healing, and a few home truths that he burst open. He just could not handle being challenged, because he had not healed himself. That always happens with dragons, fire comes out of their mouths. Then you know what they hold inside of them, as the Son of God taught, if you do not heal that which is within, it will kill you.

As a result the story goes that the Babylonians became indignant with the prophet Daniel. It is written that the king became a Jew, because Daniel had destroyed Bel, killed the dragon and slaughtered the priests. Let me tell you that I did not kill the man that was the dragon in Rev 12, nor would I ever hurt a fly intentionally. However, the priests and religious leaders can be slayed with words, because the true word of God is steel in the face of the iron fist.

Then there is a third narrative with Daniel and the seven lions, and Daniel is fed by the prophet Habakkuk. Now because Daniel was able to be with the seven lions and live. The king hailed that the LORD God of Daniel was true. Daniel was then removed from the den by the king, and his accusers were put into the den with the Lions instead.

When I was put in the den of Lions, was I given divine help? Of course. I was divinely led every step of the way.

So there we have the story of Bel and the Dragon. So what would Daniel and the other Jewish prophets say to Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindu's and Pagans today? Best you read Isaiah 46.

"Bel bows down, Nebo stoops low; their idols are borne by beasts of burden. The images that are carried about are burdensome, a burden for the weary. They stoop and bow down together; unable to rescue the burden, they themselves go off into captivity."

Please understand, I honor ancient and sacred sites. I like ancient texts. I also honor everyone's choices and free will, as long as they do no harm to others.

However, it is important that the people know the truth and understand the spiritual law, so that they can come to understand the power of their co-creation.
