Heart of Italy - St Francis of Assisi

It is no coincidence that the music track that the Israeli musician and Jerusalem Peacemaker Ofer Golany sent us for the 'Covenant for the Children' included the prayer of St Francis of Assisi.

It was in 2002 that an Italian, Stefano, first contacted us in connection with training courses, and it was in 2003 that we ran our first training course in Umbria. Umbria is without doubt the heart of Italy and while I was there the second time, I saw the most amazing heart chakra on the land of the agritourismo.  It went from the earth to the heavens, I had never seen anything so big in height and width energetically before. It was in 65 acres of ecological land in Umbria not far from Assisi and the Italian Reiki practitioner Stefano was our host during our stay there.

If you ever have the opportunity to go to Italy, then Assisi is without doubt the highlight of the visit. It is an amazing place with an amazing energy. Walking though Assisi on its cobbled stones and with the Franciscan monks amongst the monasteries is like walking back in time.  In the hills there is the original place where St Francis was most at peace.

The students and I were in awe of our experiences that day and we did not wish to leave his sacred sanctuary of peace in the hills.

The other connection that we have with the prayer of St Francis of Assisi is that it was one of the first things that we were inspired to share with the underprivileged families when we were working with them in 2002/2003.

  Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace,
Where there is hatred let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith
Where there is dispair, hope
And where there is darkness , light
And where there is sadness, joy

O Divine Master, grant that
I may not so much seek to be consoled,
To be understood as to understand
To be loved, as to love
For it is in giving that we receive
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Prayer by St. Francis of Assisi
1182-122

St Francis is the patron saint of animals and ecology, he is also closely connected with Archangel Michael who is currently with the new spiritual teachers of ecology and self-sustainability. As I write this I can hear the birds singing really loudly and St Francis loved the birds.

God bless the new teachers of self-sustainability that are giving
to humanity.

Most people are not aware that Italy is the most ecological
country in Europe. Most of their farmers chose natural
methods and good health over increased revenue, pesticides and
fertilizers etc.

God bless the farmers and the people of Italy.
