Abba said AHAVA

Abba said with sadness in his heart, "Ahava, they have chosen Islam instead of you". Ahava means love in Hebrew.

Apart from his heartfelt message to me, there is also an Israeli company called Ahava that is coming under fire due to some claiming that their products are made in the West Bank. Our response: Does it really matter where a product is made? There are manufacturing plants all over the world for different products, but yet people don't go around shouting that those corporations are on other people's land.

In May 2006, I was sent to Ein Gedi and its very close to Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. The Ein Gedi kibbutz is a very friendly place, there were a lot of people that go there specifically for its health benefits. While I was there, I met people from Denmark that go there once a year for treatments. They were very honest with me that 85% of the improvement to their skin is from the sun. They are not cured otherwise they would not have to keep on going back every year for one month at a time. The Danish are fortunate that their trips to the Dead Sea are paid for by their health care system. Here in the UK skin disease is not even recognized as disenabling.

As far as the opponents of Ahava are concerned there appears to be the following issues:

1. The accusation that the natural resource come from a Palestinian territory.
2. The accusation that the natural resource is manufactured in a Palestinian territory.
3. That the products are labeled that they come from Israel, and Israel appears to be the focus of world attention at this point in time.

If I was the general public I would be more interested in the following:

1. Do the products work?
2. What are the real health benefits of these products?
3. Are the minerals legitimately resourced from Israel/Dead Sea.

The protesters don't stop with Ahava either. They are standing against at least 20 other Israeli companies. In Paris, the leaflets given out call 'Israel' war criminals'.  Is that fair? Is that Ahava? It is clear that those that stand against Israel virulently, have made their choice to become a Muslim, and live under an Islamic regime. I wonder how they will feel when its time to live under sharia law, if you don't convert you will have to pay higher taxes.

Abba said 'They will all be ashen".
