The Empress is symbolic of the mother and she defends mother nature, although it is known that the Empress card does not represent Mother Mary. So who is she? The fact that the number of the card is III indicates that she is the third woman. Mansa also means third girl. The Empress card is also called a trump card and as we know God as all the Ace Cards in his right hand. Who is Abba trumping with his Empress?
In the Arthur Waite pack it looks like she is sitting in front of an orchard. [1] Under a golden sky, and she is crowned with stars. In the book of Revelation chapter 12, we also find the woman with the stars on her head. Waite as dressed her in a dress with pomegranates. In Buddhist symbology this fruit is one of the three blessed fruits, along with citrus and peach. No surprise then when she was a child her favorite fruits were the pomegranate, necturine/peach, and satsuma's. We also brought back a gift of real pomegranates from Bethlehem in Northern Israel, for a couple of dear friends in 2007.
In mystical Judaism, fruit is also symbolic of the Navi, the prophet of God. As we know the pomegranate also have many seeds and they make a wonderful drink that is healthy for you. She is a Queen of Heaven but she is also an Empress.
bAs you can see she is holding the sceptre and the sceptre is symbolic of the prophet. Nostradamus also made predictions about her and where God would lay down his sceptre.
She is sitting on a luscious material throne and cushions reminiscent of Queen Ester. When she was teaching people to heal themselves she did sit on material in the garden room of a healing centre. Behind her was the real garden where she and the students would go and work with the energy of the Trees and plants. In that garden is a wonderful willow tree that grows so fast.
She also has a heart shape on her right side at her feet, this tells you her direction is Ahava. Her throne sits before the field of grain before harvest time. She is the mother, creator of projects and nurturer. The heart also tells you that she is compelled by love.
In the Morgan-Greer pack the sky is blue and it is clear that she loves nature. You can also see the waterfall of the rushing waters and in the bible that is symbolic of the word of God. In Buddhism it is the waters of purification that can fertilize the soil and everything that grows. Remember nothing grows without fresh water.
In her left hand she holds the lotus flower symbolic of enlightenment. In her right hand she has a golden shield and the eagle that is also mentioned in the bible. In Exodus it says 'I carried you on eagle wings and brought you to myself". "They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.: Isa 40:31
It can also be viewed as the risen Phoenix that rose out of the ashes of the past. In other words she ascended. It is that gnosis that defends her being because she knows that the sacred text of knowledge is life experience. That is her shield that nobody can remove from her right hand because it is hers to own. It is the experience from her life and divine experience that can help to defend humanity and the children of the world. It is a large badge of honor, she is an intelligent design of God.
The cross sits upon her heart because she comes from the heart of pure intention. She looks forward to the birth of New Jerusalem in paradise. The cross is also symbolic of the fact that she would come from the Galilee of the Gentiles exactly as the bible predicted that she would.
Her left leg is raised up and under her left foot is the crescent moon, it is clear that she is not Isis. The crescent moon can be symbolic of illusion and as we know it is also the symbol of Islam. In front of her left foot is the pomegranate again. You will also see some wheat close by her right leg that as not yet been harvested because it is not harvest time yet!
She is wearing gold the same colour that she was asked to wear when she delivered the covenant for the children to Israel and the rest of the world. She also wore yellow and orange when she was teaching healing. The hair is long and golden and her hair turns golden when she spends a long time in the sun.
No coincidence then that we were led to this lovely song a couple of days ago.
