The song is sung by Billy Joel, he sings the words regarding the people and it is clear he knew what would happen. He sings about the drinkers and that can be viewed in different ways, on our other blog we shared about the American Christians that are allowing themselves to be intoxicated by the energy of others in the Church. Then there are the people that are drinking because they simply refuse to deal with the harsh realities that they have co-created.
People were warned to stay sober because this is the sober decade, it is imperative that people stay alert. The song talks about the 'loneliness' of John, that people are feeling and he says that it is killing them. One can also relate John to John the Divine and the book of Revelation.
It mentions Paul that did not have time for a wife. The best man at my wedding, Paul Sparrow, was mowed down by a police car, he was just 27 years old. The police were speeding and he just happened to be in the way. In the end they turned off the life support machine and allowed him to pass over. I feel him close as I write this, in honor of the joy and fun that he brought into my life. He was a laugh a minute, he was also a musician, a drummer, and in a school band with Adam. So as the song goes, I am playing a memory of when I wore younger clothes.
I will always remember the evening that Paul decided to photocopy his bottom, he did not have the wisdom to realize that his weight would smash the photocopier. He was still very young then.

DAVY is still in the navy and predicted to stay there for life. I do know a sailor called DAVID and David means 'Beloved'.
The song says it is 9'o'clock. However, it is 4am, in the 4th month of the 4th year, and the dawn is on the horizon. 444 = PERFECT LOVE.
The waitress in the song = new world servers are playing politics. They are being politically correct while wars are being co-created and my people are being oppressed.
The business men are getting stoned, as such they do not reach their limitless potential and let us not even go there with the rest.
My Jewish grandfather had an upright PIANO in what was called the 'PARLOUR' in those days. I liked the antique auctions, and I was drawn to purchase a beautiful Victorian piano, with its original double brass candlesticks. Two by two again = FOUR.
It was rare to come across a piano still with its original candlesticks. It is also rare to come across anyone that is ORIGINAL, so many have allowed themselves to be cloned.
Michael M Mauldin had an amazing eye for originality, he called ours 'Alchemy of the Word'. He could see what others could not see, he could see beauty where others could see none. Beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder. Of course he was a scholar that had taught many talented people during his life. He had the ability to home in, like a homing pigeon on those that were authentic. He could see the LIGHT of LOVE, he often spoke of the integrity of the UNION families and where we had come from. His appreciation of the power of creativity was second to none, he said it was surreal.
Our lives took different turns, yet we met at the CROSS roads at
the right time and in the right place, another biblical prophecy was fulfilled.
The piano sat in my spiritual work room, it was a wonderful piece of furniture once it was cleaned up. The grain of the wood was special, we sold it when we left for Australia in 1998. The purchasers of our house really liked it, and decided to buy it. That was good because it meant that I did not have to move it.
