Pancake Day

This being the Chinese Year of the Rabbit, and that is a lot to do with food. It is appropriate to mention the historical tradition of PANCAKE DAY,  that was on the 8th of March this year. Retailers are claiming that people in in the UK are buying 'ready made' instead of mixing up eggs, flour and milk.

This is not a good sign, because Pancake Day is not just about eating pancakes. It's about cooking pancakes with the children, pancake day is often the day, that children get interested in cooking. They like to make pancakes and learn how to cook them.

It stands to reason that when parents don't cook home made food, then children don't learn how to cook home cooked food. There is nothing more simple than making pancakes. The Daily Telegraph have called British parents 'Cheats', well the only people they are cheating is themselves, and their children.

The other news is that food prices are rising faster, three times faster in Britain then anywhere else in Europe. Who do food prices impact on the most? The poor.
