Jerusalem Artichoke

A day of unique happenings, what is the first offering today? Information on free food that is indigenous to the USA. The plant is known as the Jerusalem artichoke although it's shape is nothing like an artichoke. Its tuber is a root vegetable and is cultivated widely.

Its botany name is Helianthus tuberosus, also called the sunroot, sunchoke, earth apple, or topinambour. One can see from looking at the flower that is is a member of the Sunflower family. Yellow is also the sunny color of creativity and creative cooks. However, is this plant for cooking or is it for medicinal purposes? A plant that can give gastric pain when eaten, is clearly a plant that should only be taken in small amounts. Can you imagine what would happen to you if you ate a few ginger tubers?

My view is that a lot more research is required to be done with this plant. It looks like a 12 petalled plant and 12 is the number of the victim. So this is a medicinal healing plant that is for a specific purpose of giving healing for certain life conditions.

Its sun element would signify that it brings warmth and heat to a body that is cold. As a flower essence it is sure to bring back the sunshine into your life, helping people to reconnect with nature and their natural roots.

The fact, that this plant produces a gastric effect when eaten, also signifies that we're talking about the power energy centre. The solar plexus of the being aligns with the solar plexus of Jerusalem in Israel. Who suffer the most from gastric conditions? The elderly, the ones that had not healed their 'power' issues and moved their energy into their hearts. So this plant is working at that level of consciousness.

Jamie Oliver, (well known chef and author from the UK), likes these tubers so they must be good. Here's a recipe. He cooks them like we do pots and parsnips. However, I still maintain that this is a medicinal plant, it was not created for the gourmet or chef's pleasure. It was created for the healers that understand its medical properties. Hence, why it was the Indians that first worked with this plant.

While I am writing this the LORD God said 'Navajo'. In Navajo it is DINE, meaning 'The People'. Is that where our word dine came from? It also relates to a place called Dinetah. This is important so I will make a different post on it.

I must it admit Oliver's picture and way of cooking appeals to me more than the American in this video. However, each to their own. So here we have a plant that is specifically for Americans to help them. and now its being grown and spread in the UK. When will people learn?
